LEWIS dovetailed sheets are the original rolled dovetailed steel sheets. Ideal for shuttering and reinforcing thin lightweight concrete floors on wooden, steel or other bearing constructions. The unique S-shaped geometry of the of the LEWIS Dovetailed sheeting secures a high pouring load and bearing capacity of the floor. Due to the dimensional accuracy of the profiling, the LEWIS sheets fit together perfectly and no liquid mortar leaks out. During construction, the LEWIS floor can be walked on safely, even with larger spans between the joists.

The LEWIS floor

The LEWIS floor consists of a LEWIS Dovetailed steel sheet, finished with a thin layer of (lightweight) fine grade aggregate concrete, cementitious or liquid screed. During processing, the LEWIS Dovetailed sheets act as shuttering and transfer the weight of the concrete mix and the assembly load to the bearing construction. Once the mortar hardens, it creates a composite action with the LEWIS Dovetailed sheets. The flat finish means that no additional finishing floor is required.
